On January 2nd, 2008, CyVolt Energy Systems, Inc. entered into a strategic partnership with GloCal Network Corporation of Seattle, WA. The partnership provides CyVolt with GloCal's international network of government, corporate and non-profit contacts for potential investment, teaming and consulting opportunities. In addition, CyVolt has access to facilities to advance their research and development objectives and company operations. "This partnership provides us with necessary facilities and infrastructure, and access to critical business development resources," said Chris Ashfield, Co-Founder, President & COO of CyVolt. "We are currently a seed-stage company and this relationship allows us to rapidly ramp-up operations and to pursue other investment strategies previously unavailable to us. We share GloCal's enthusiasm for renewable technologies and anticipate bringing the element of successful commercialization to their international organization." Dr. Steven Ragsdale, the company's Vice President and CTO, added that Dr. Seferis' previous academic experience should enable CyVolt to increase its exposure and competitiveness to pursuing government funding opportunities. "We are actively pursuing funding opportunities with several government agencies where our technology fits the need for portable power solutions and the benefits of renewable energy," he stated. "In addition, the GloCal partnership allows CyVolt to pursue both for-profit and non-profit agency solicitations through GloCal's unique dual-operational structure, which significantly broadens our funding opportunities."
